Hideez Client Setup
Hideez Client — Initial setup for Windows
Please note! The functionality of a password manager, password generator, and proximity lock is available only on Windows 10 or Windows 11 computers with the installed Hideez Client application.

Step 0: Remove isolating material from the Key's housing

Open Hideez Key's case and remove white plastic.

Step 1: Install and Launch the Hideez Client

You can download the latest version of the Hideez Client here.
Run the file and go through the installation steps. On the first screen, select the Standalone version and check the Use external Hideez Bluetooth Dongle box.

Step 2: Update the device's firmware

Go through the steps to update the firmware of your Hideez Key to the latest version using Quick Update mode.

Step 3: Pair your Hideez Key with the Hideez Client

  1. 1.
Insert Hideez USB Blueotooth dongle into a USB port. Avoid using a USB hub, if possible.
  2. 2.
Check the 'Hideez Bluetooth Dongle' indicator at the bottom of the Hideez Client window (it should be green).
  3. 3.
Press the Hideez Key's button to activate the device.
  4. 4.
Tap the dongle with the Hideez Key. You need to touch the dongle with the Hideez Key for 1-2 seconds.
  5. 5.
Confirm pairing by pressing the Hideez Key's button while it is flashing green.
Possible issues:
The button was not pressed in time - you need to press the button when it flashes green. You have three attempts to confirm the connection by pressing the button; the key will flash green during each attempt. If you missed this moment and did not press, then after three attempts the key stops flashing green, and you need to touch the dongle again.

Step 4: Set a Master Password

You need to create and remember a master password for your Hideez Key. Later, you can change the master password according to this instruction.
It is impossible to recover a forgotten master password. You can only clear all data from your Hideez Key.

Step 5: Access to the Password manager
